Come, stay, and enjoy the Farmhouse at Riverbend. Located in North Baldwin County bordering the Perdido River, you will be surrounded by hundreds of wooded acres in a very private, peaceful setting. The pristine, exclusive stretch of the Perdido River guarantees the luxury of being “off the map”, if that’s what your heart desires.
The original homestead built in 1904 has been replaced with a new modern Farmhouse that sleeps up to 8, including 2 bedrooms with private ensuites and a bunk room that contains four bunk beds. Here at the Farmhouse, guests can enjoy all the modern conveniences such as Star-link internet, A/C, washer/dryer, TV, dishwasher, and gas stove in a rustic setting. The large wraparound porch is perfect for watching the sun rise with your morning coffee or seeing the deer at dusk. Enjoy grilling under the stars with the Primo grill and making smores around the fire pit on the cool fall and winter evenings.
The wildlife is plentiful and could include sightings of deer, birds, wild turkey, or gopher tortoises. The longLeaf Pine Forest slopes to the Perdido Savannah, offering numerous opportunities for the serious and the not-so-serious birder with its own special flora and fauna. Multiple hiking and biking trails allow you to see the beauty of an unspoiled forest featuring both deciduous and evergreen Pines.
Canoes & kayaks are available to use while you stay at the Farmhouse or you may bring your own. Try your hand in one of many catch and release fishing holes from the trail that follows along the river. This is a delightful opportunity to experience a southern river bottom from a most authentic perspective.
Are you a good shot? Sporting clays are a popular pastime here at the Farmhouse and can be added on as an experience during your stay. Shooting from a central location, we offer 4 different throwers with varying levels of difficulty. Nothing thrills us more than a friendly competition so scorecards are a provided essential to document your win!
Over the years, Riverbend has been issued many awards for the Slay family’s Treasured Forest. The Farmhouse provides a unique opportunity to enjoy nature in its most private setting.
